安吉拉·卡特（Angela Carter，1940—1992），英国女作家，凭借《染血之室》《马戏团之夜》《焚舟纪》《安吉拉·卡特的精怪故事集》《明智的孩子》等新颖无畏、独树一帜的作品，成为一代人的偶像，被萨尔曼·鲁西迪、伊恩·麦克尤恩、石黑一雄、玛格丽特·阿特伍德等大作家拥戴为一代文学教母。2008年，《泰晤士报》将她列为“1945年以来50位伟大英国作家”第10位。时至今日，她仍是女性主义的象征。
关于译者
曹雷雨，女，四川人，文学博士，北京师范大学外文学院英文系教授。近年致力于文学作品和艺术图书翻译，已出版译著十余部。译有安吉拉•卡特的长篇小说处女作《影舞》（河南大学出版社，2016）。
姜丽，女，山东人，兰州大学英美文学专业硕士，瑞士伯尔尼大学语言学博士。长期在高校从事英语教学工作，有二十多年的翻译经验。
