简·奥斯丁（Jane Austen，1775~1817），女，英国作家。生于乡村牧师家庭，创作长篇小说6部：《傲慢与偏见》《理智与情感》《曼斯菲尔德庄园》《爱玛》及去世后发表的《诺桑觉寺》和《劝导》。奥斯丁藉女性特有的精微观察力，真实展现了她周遭世界的小天地，活色生香的对白、构思精妙的情节和玲珑鲜明的人物令她独树一帜，她对两性关系的深邃洞察，对人性世事的清醒旁观，在两百多年后的今天，依然在唤起我们跨越时代的深切共鸣。
孙致礼（1942~ ），男，翻译家、翻译理论家，解放军外国语学院英语教授、博士生导师。兼任中国译协常务理事，翻译理论和教学研究委员会会员，全 国英汉语比较研究会常务理事。已发表翻译作品30余部，其中包括奥斯汀全部六部小说、勃朗特《呼啸山庄》、哈代《德伯维尔家的苔丝》、海明威《永别了，武器》《老人与海》等文学名著。发表翻译研究论文约40篇，完成国家社会科学基金项目2项，出版翻译研究专著《翻译：理论与实践探索》《1949-1966：我国英美文学翻译概论》《中国的英美文学翻译：1949-2008》。
