As selected by the author, "Opened Ground" includes the essential work from Heaney's twelve previous books of poetry, as well as new sequences drawn from two of his landmark translations, "The Cure at Troy" and "Sweeney Astray," and several previously uncollected poems. 谢默斯·希尼(Seamus Heaney，1939-2013)，享誉世界的伟大诗人、剧作家、评论家、翻译家。1939年生于北爱尔兰德里郡，1961年毕业于贝尔法斯特女王大学，当过中学教师，后回母校任文学教师。二十多岁即以诗集《一位自然主义者之死》闻名诗坛。1972年和家人移居爱尔兰都柏林。曾任美国哈佛大学修辞学教授，英国牛津大学诗学教授。获艾略特诗歌奖、毛姆文学奖、史密斯文学奖等重要奖项，1995年因“其作品饱含抒情之美以及对伦理的深刻理解，凸显了日常生活的奇迹和历史的现实性”而获诺贝尔文学奖，被称为“继叶芝之后最伟大的爱尔兰诗人”。
译者简介
黄灿然，诗人、翻译家、评论家。1963年生于福建泉州，1978年移居香港，1988年毕业于暨南大学，曾长期任职香港大公报国际新闻翻译，现居深圳。2011年获华语文学传媒大奖年度诗人奖。近期译著有布罗茨基随笔集《小于一》《曼德尔施塔姆诗选》《一只狼在放哨——阿巴斯诗集》以及费林盖蒂诗集《心灵的科尼岛》，即将出版的译著有希尼30年文选《发现者，保管者》和米沃什50年文选《站在人这边》等。
