约翰•勒卡雷，原名大卫•约翰•摩尔•康纳尔，英国间谍小说家。早年曾供职于英国情报部门，后开始以笔名创作小说。勒卡雷凭借小说《柏林谍影》一举成名，当时著名的小说家格雷厄姆•格林如此盛赞：“这是我读过的最好的间谍小说！”从此奠定了文坛大师的地位。
勒卡雷一生得奖无数，1964年获得英国毛姆奖，1965年获美国推理作家协会的爱伦坡大奖，1988年更获颁英国推理作家协会（CWA）终身成就奖（另外分别在1963年与1977年获颁金匕首奖）等。2008年，在《时代》杂志评选的“1945年以来最伟大的五十位英国作家”名单上，勒卡雷名列第22位。2011年，勒卡雷获歌德学院颁发的歌德奖。
